La actriz Anne Hathaway y Tom Rachel presidente de la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas® dieron a conocer por la mañana, la lista de los nominados al codiciado premio Oscar 2010 en las 24 categorías establecidas. La principal sorpresa de la edición 82, es que son 10 las cintas nominadas a mejor película, en lugar de las cinco acostumbradas, es la primera vez en 66 años de la historia de estos premios que ocurre de nuevo, sin duda esto hará más competitiva la elección de la ganadora.
Las películas que lideran la lista son: Avatar y Zona de miedo (Hurt Locker) con 9 nominaciones cada una. Bastardos sin gloria (Inglorious Basterds)
de Quentin tarantino cuenta con 8 nominaciones, mientras que Amor sin escalas (Up in the air) y Precious (Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire) compiten en 6 categorías. El premio a mejor actor lo disputarán George Clooney por Amor sin escalas, Jeff Bridges por Crazy Heart, Morgan Freeman por Invictus, Colin Firth por A Single man y Jeremy Renner por Zona de miedo. En la categoría de mejor actriz, la competencia está entre Sandra Bullock por Un sueño posible, Hellen Mirren por The Last Station, Meryl Streep por Julie and Julia, Carey Mulligan por An education y Gabourey Sidibe por Precious.
La ceremonia de premiación será el 7 de marzo en el Kodak Theatre de Hollywood, y serán dos los anfitriones: Steve Martin y Alec Baldwin. Martin ya ha tenido este honor en 2 ocasiones.
